Many of us dream about getting an online job. It promises a lot of flexibility, convenience, and freedom. However, when we actually start teaching online we often become overwhelmed and stressed out with the amount of work that needs to be done. Technical glitches do not enhance our overall experience.Slowly, we find ourselves “glued” to the computer 24/7, without any rest… we feel like our lives are passing by and can start to feel overworked and underpaid…
Do you check your email several times a day? Every hour? Do you feel the urge to check several sites at a time while you are working online? Do you need to stay online even when you’re on vacation? Do you feel lost if there is no internet connection? How about if you forget your cell phone at home?
We live in a constant state of hypermind- where we constantly switch from one topic to another without resting in between.
