Got your attention, huh?
When I first saw the website of Erik Johannsonon I was in the middle of working on my book (hey, I did not follow my own advice and had several screens open at the same time). I found myself being mesmerized by his art and only 1 hour later did I realize that I had completely abandoned my project! This made me think- what kind of images get our attention online? I found an eye movement researcher (who I had actually interviewed for that book that I was working on) who studies what does and does not get attention online.
In this 6 minute video based on the research of Dr. Nielsen & Dr. Pernic (2010), I discuss the features of ”magnetic” online images and reveal characteristics of those that usually get ignored by website visitors (some of them are very surprising!).

Hi Marina,
Very interesting!
Just by chance, yesterday I was looking for some shocking pictures to show to my Spanish 2 students about the meaning of idioms related to parts of the body…
I think they enjoy the lesson a lot,,,and probably they are not going to forget the meanings due to the images I presnted, because they were very valuable in conveying the meaning, apart from being funny!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with eLearningOnlineTeaching.
Best,
BI
Ha-ha.. great minds think alike! I am sure your students loved your lesson! Thanks for sharing.
